Two plate linocut with Caligo Safe Wash Inks on 145 gsm Zerkall print paper.
We have travelled on the Pink Ferry from Hamble to Warsash over the River Hamble many times over the last thirty years, enjoying a walk along the eastern banks of the river, through Old Bursledon (occasionally stopping for a drink at the Jolly Sailor) and then cutting back across the old airfield to Hamble. Ray the ferryman has tirelessly manned the ferry since he was a young lad and is as much as a local fixture as the ferry itself, though he is soon to retire. He will be missed!
This print is designed in the same style as my popular ‘Lighthouse at Dawn’ print and is proving to be a big hit with the locals this Christmas. Editions of the print, some framed, are available at Sea Sky, the wonderful little art gallery and gift shop in Hamble.
